U11 B Season Outlook
Hello U11 Wildcat Parents

Thank you to everyone for participating in the 4 pre-evaluation skates over the last couple of weeks. It has been great to see everyone back on the ice and having  progression after only a limited amount of time on the ice.

With the tryouts beginning this Sunday, I wanted to get an update out to give parents some insight to the makeup of costs and commitments related to playing on the U11 B team for the 2022-23 season.

Individual Team Fee Cost Breakdown:

Detailed team budget will be shared upon the team being finalized. At this time, it is estimated to be approx. $650 individually, which will cover 6 tournaments, extra ice time, additional outside development as well as team building opportunities.

We will be creating team fundraisers to offset as much of these fees as possible. One of the bigger initiatives will be the banner sponsorship (as per previous seasons – advertising spots for $100, $250 & $500) and will be asking for sponsorships from local businesses. We will also look to do Gunn’s Hill Cheese or something similar later in the Fall.

Historically with a team focused effort in fundraising, many of the out of pocket costs will be covered or significantly minimized.

Tournaments:

We have committed to 4 tournaments through the regular season.

November 4-6 - St Catharines
December 2-4 – Whitby
January 6-8 – Woodstock
February 24-26 - Brantford

Hotel blocks have been booked for the Friday & Saturday night for both St Catharines and Whitby and will be sent to parents upon finalization of the B team.

Depending on season results, we have budgeted 2 additional tournaments in GTA in April – Championship Weekend & Provincials, both will require qualifying through gameplay of playoffs as well as provincial playdowns. If we do not qualify, these funds may be made available as a refund to parents.

Team Gear/Team Wear:

Players will be required to purchase jerseys (with name and number on the back) as well as pant shells from Source for Sports. You will own these jerseys and get to select your number and name on the back. You can get 2-3 seasons out of these, so although has an upfront cost, probably won't be every season. Jerseys cost approx. $170 and pant shells approx. $65.

The association requires all players on the top Rep team to purchase a Wildcats jacket. We will arrange a sizing date with WSC after tryouts to order all items. The WSC catalogue can be found on the Wildcats website.

These items are not included in the individual team budget.

****If you already own any these items from previous seasons, you can use them instead of purchasing new ones****

Additional Ice Times:

The schedule has been posted for ice times from October to January 31 (with Feb & March to follow later in season). We will be provided 53 ice times, however, will be budgeting an extra 7-8 extra (if available) throughout the season.

If you have any questions, I can be reached at [email protected].

I look forward to seeing everyone on the ice over the coming week and a half and wish everyone best of luck through the tryout process.
