The Wildcat Atom B team sponsored by the Woodstock Firefighter Association won the gold medal at the LLFHL Championships on March 23rd to the 25th. In order to qualify for the year end championships the girls had to win 3 rounds of playoffs against Woolwich, North Halton and Brantford to win the Central West division. The winners of the other 4 divisions also qualify for the final which narrows the league down from 51 Atom B teams to the top 5. Woodstock won all 4 games in the round robin and faced Lakeshore in the final. The girls managed to squeak out a 1-0 win with the help of some solid goaltending from Rylee Nancekivell and a great team effort. So far this year they have won 3 tournaments, the LLFHL championships and are now preparing to battle it out at the provincial championships held in April. This article has been viewed 435 times.
