Wildcats Kittens Program

Our introductory program for beginners is sponsored by Tim Hortons who provide the jerseys and socks. This program is for girls aged 4-7 who are able to skate, but would like to learn the great game of hockey in a fun, non-competitive atmosphere. We concentrate of teaching the basic skills of the game including skating drills, puck handling and team play. There are no official games, but plenty of informal games within the group. This is not intended as a learn-to-skate program as each player should have some ability to skate. Upon completion of the Kittens program, the next step would be to become a Wildcat and join the Novice team in a future season.

The program runs once a week at the Civic arena at 9am on Saturday mornings from the first Saturday after Thanksgiving to the end of March - approximately 20 ice times.
We have plenty of coaches on hand including players from older Wildcats teams who come out to help and provide role models to aspire to.

KITTENS PLUS

Kittens Plus is an extension of the Kittens program. Those who may be a little more advanced in their abilities, can opt to also be included in the Kittens Plus program. These are additional ice times that include more advanced instruction as well as official games between other nearby associations with a similar program.

The Kittens Plus program has an additional cost for additional ice time. These fees depend on the amount of extra ice and will be communicated at the start of the program.
