COVID Protocols - Vaccination Update
Submitted By Kim Bailey on Friday, September 10, 2021
The City of Woodstock, in conjunction with Southwest Public Health Unit, provided the association with an update today on the province’s recent announcement regarding vaccine certificates/passports and entry into indoor public spaces.

The announcement from the province was:
As of September 22, 2021, Ontarians will need to be fully vaccinated (two doses plus 14 days) and provide their proof of vaccination along with photo ID to access certain public settings and facilities.

This approach focuses on higher-risk indoor public settings where face coverings cannot always be worn and includes:

· Restaurants and bars (excluding outdoor patios, as well as delivery and takeout);
· Nightclubs (including outdoor areas of the establishment);
· Meeting and event spaces, such as banquet halls and conference/convention centres;
· Facilities used for sports and fitness activities and personal fitness training, such as gyms, fitness and recreational facilities with the exception of youth recreational sport;
· Sporting events;
· Casinos, bingo halls and gaming establishments;
· Concerts, music festivals, theatres and cinemas;
· Strip clubs, bathhouses and sex clubs;
· Racing venues (e.g., horse racing)

Southwest Public Health has advised the City of Woodstock that the exception of youth recreational sports is just for those participants 11 and under, as there is no vaccine available to that group at this time.  All other participants, coaches, parents, etc., will need to be fully vaccinated plus the 14 day post window to enter the Arenas as of September 22, 2021.

The City of Woodstock is waiting for more formal information regarding the entry process requirements beginning September 22.  When we receive this information, we will pass it on immediately.

For those that require documentation showing proof of vaccine, you can click here:   You will need your green health card, date of birth and postal code.

Please note, the City of Woodstock did not mandate this passport requirement. This is direct guidance from, and mandated by, the Province of Ontario.

We understand that vaccination is a personal choice that every family must make on their own.  With Wildcats teams beginning to be formed and tryouts underway, please advise [email protected] & [email protected] if you wish to withdraw from the 2021-22 season and request a refund of balances paid.  Please let us know right away.  Once teams are formed and registration is paid, we will not be offering refunds for non-vaccination.  At that point, refunds will only be given if COVID cancels portions or all of the season.

We understand many protocols have changed since original plans began for the season in the summer months and will work with all members as required, whether choosing to participate in the season or withdraw.

Thank you for everyone’s continued cooperation and understanding during this challenging time of ever-changing protocols. We ask that all members continue to treat everyone with kindness and respect through the new entry procedures and we look forward to seeing everyone out on the ice!
