Two GOLDS in a row for the Wildcats U15BB team!
The Wildcats U15BB Kyjo Steel team played in the 41st annual Walter Gretzky tournament on the 24th- 26th of February. The girls had 2 wins and a tie in the round robin beating Keene 2-1, Brantford 6-0 and tying Guelph 1-1. That moved them on to the elimination games where they beat Mississauga 3-0 and Haldimand 3-0 in the semis.
Next up was a real tough challenge in playing Keene again in the final. In a very tight and well played game by the entire team, it was tied 1-1 after a 5 minute overtime so had to decide the winner by a shootout. After some great saves and a couple of nice snipes the girls won the shootout 2-0!
It was a well-played tournament by all the girls who won by digging deep, playing like a team and out-working their opponents.
This tournament win comes on the heels of the girls also winning the Wildcat tournament in January. In 4 tournaments this season they have 2 golds and a silver! Congratulations U15BB!
