2024 Woodstock Wildcats Dressing Room Supervision Policy
Attention Members:
Please read and adhere to the following
Dressing Room Supervision Policy
Requirement
(from Hockey Canada):
To best
ensure safety for all participants, all minor hockey programs sanctioned by
Hockey Canada and its Members are required to implement the “Rule of Two”
for all dressing rooms. The “Rule of
Two” requires that two trained and screened adults to be present in the
dressing room or immediately outside the dressing room with the door propped
open to monitor the environment and ensure its free of any discrimination,
harassment, bullying, or other forms of maltreatment. The Rule of Two remains in place when showers
are in use.Rationale: The requirements outlined below allow conditions for Wildcats teams to provide a safe and supervised dressing room environment that is in compliance with the OWHA Policy and Hockey Canada Policies. This policy is applicable to U9 aged and up
-Each team will provide at least TWO trained and screened adult female dressing room attendants to provide supervision while players are using the dressing room before and after games and practices
-For U9 and U11 teams it is recommended that there be 4-6 screened attendants to support younger players as they build skills to independently get ready for hockey
-No individuals, other that screened attendants and screened team staff are to be in the dressing room
-Coaches talks can be done in the 15 minutes prior to games in the dressing room once all players are dressed. At least one female attendant will remain in the room during this time
-It is recommended that teams exercise a policy where parents don’t gather in the hallway outside the dressing room
