Our U13B Wildcats faced tough competition in their first two games on Friday against the Kitchener Lady Rangers and the London Devilettes, unfortunately ending in defeat.
Saturday marked a fresh start as the girls brought their A-game, defeating both the Huron Heat and the Ayr Rockets. Their determination and teamwork shone through, earning them a spot in the semifinals against Kitchener.
On Sunday, the Wildcats were unstoppable, defeating Kitchener 4-0 to advance to the finals against the Devilettes.
The finals were intense, with both teams battling hard, making crucial passes, and taking numerous shots on goal. Regular time ended in a 2-2 tie.
The game moved to 3-on-3 overtime, with both sides having their chances. When no winner emerged, the match was decided by a shootout, where the Devilettes ultimately came out on top.
Despite the outcome, the girls should be incredibly proud of their effort and heart throughout the tournament.
Special mention to our goalie, McCartney, who continued to amaze everyone with her cat-like reflexes and incredible saves in every game!
Silver medalists - a great finish for our first tournament!
