Our
second tournament kicked off with the girls roaring out of the gate, facing off
against teams we've never encountered before!
Our
first game against St. Catherine’s was a real nail-biter, packed with
end-to-end excitement. In the end, it was a 1-1 tie.
Our
second opponent, Brantford, brought a physical game, but our Wildcats kept
their cool and came out on top with a 2-0 victory.
Saturday
morning against South Huron was another tough battle. Both teams had chances,
but no one managed to score, resulting in a goalless draw.
On
Saturday afternoon, we journeyed down the road to Norwich for a fierce face-off
against Hamilton. The girls showed grit, determination, and some serious
skills. They dominated the game, netting 2 goals to secure the win!
As
a result of their stellar performances in the round robin, the Wildcats topped
the leaderboard, guaranteeing their place in the finals.
It
was a rematch against St. Catharines to determine the ultimate champion in the
finals. The girls came prepared, and it showed. From the first puck drop to the
final buzzer, they all played like champions, securing a 3-1 victory and the
gold medal in their very own tournament!!
What
an effort by all! Let’s carry this momentum into next weekend's tournament in
Huntsville!
