Another great tournament weekend for the U18-B (Zehr) team. The Woodstock Wildcats brought home their 2nd Gold medal of the season at the Guelph Gryphons Annual Winter Classic Tournament.
In a round robin full of close games, the team emerged on top securing the divisions No. 1 seed with victories over St. Catherines Jr. Badgers, Scarborough Sharks, and Belmont Blazers, plus a tie with the Huron Heat
For the finals, the Wildcats faced an undefeated North Halton Twisters squad. The team clinched the gold medal in regulation with a 2–1 victory, fueled by goals from Maeve Jordan and Makena Barron.
Throughout the tournament, the Wildcats showcased a balanced attack, scoring 9 goals from 8 different players. Their defense was outstanding, allowing very few scoring chances, while goaltender Sam Hammond was exceptional—giving up just one goal over five games, earning four shutouts and Tournament MVP honors.
